Employee Spotlight: Meet Kam at Simply Poured

At Simply Poured, we simply love our employees. 

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our incredible shift leads, Kam, who joined our team in March 2024. 

At just 23, Kam has already made a big impact on our coffee shop and our small-town community. So, get to know Kam! 

A Fresh Perspective

Kam began working at Simply Poured with little barista experience but a lot of passion. For Kam, Simply Poured is more than just a job—it became an opportunity to develop new skills and embrace her love for coffee. 

She shared, “I love coffee, so this is my dream job right now.” 

“The atmosphere here is so positive and I could tell right away this was going to be a place I could grow.” 

A Supportive, Creative Environment

Kam loves being creative at Simply Poured. Melissa, our owner, cultivates a free, creative environment for her baristas.

“Melissa allows us to contribute ideas and have fun with the drinks we make,” she explained. “She’s always willing to give us a chance to try something new. She’s more than willing to give us a couple of chances if something doesn’t work out the first time.”

Kam gets to express her creativity in ways she hadn't expected.

It’s not just about making coffee—it’s about being part of something special. 

“It feels good knowing that our ideas are valued and that we can be part of what makes Simply Poured unique,” Kam said. 

Simply Poured’s Role in the Community

Simply Poured isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a place where the community comes together. In a small town, the shop stands out in a special way.

All you have to do is look around to see the impact of Simply Poured on Madisonville. Our customers come to enjoy themselves. Whether it’s coming in to meet friends for a chat or zipping through the drive-thru on the way to work, Simply Poured is the go-to coffee destination in town. 

"Being in such a small town, Simply Poured has this indescribable quality—it really stands out," Kam said.

Both customers and employees can come to be themselves.

Favorite Drinks at Simply Poured

When asked about her favorite drinks at Simply Poured, Kam had a couple of go-to choices. It was really hard for her too choose.

First choice: A simple vanilla latte with sweet cream

A constant favorite: Hot chocolate with cinnamon

Of course, part of the fun of being a barista is getting to try new things, and Kam is always experimenting with different flavors.
